Trinity's Got Talent (March 2011)

As the pupils of Trinity Academy took their seats for the Trinity’s Got Talent event on Friday 18th March, the house announcer asked the question “Does Trinity have talent?” An hour and a half later proved without doubt that it has plenty!

A total of twelve acts performed to an audience of over 300 people and the event, along with the non-uniform day, raised a fantastic £1617.55 for Comic Relief.

The Judges picked out a top three of Frink Out, Belle and Akash and the PE staff and these three acts performed once more before the judges decided that the winner was Frink Out. The 4-piece band comprise Cameron Avery, Xander Jowett McFetters, Sam Irvine and Matthew Cairns of S2. More in the March newsletter            top

Comenius project - Germany / Sweden (April 2011)
Comenius is a European competitive project for the improvement of student‘s attitudes towards their own health and the health of their environment, organized in co-operation with the University of Applied Sciences, Bremen, Germany. The journey to Germany and the participation in the conference is the prize awarded by the jury to the two best projects per school. The jury met in Sweden over the first weekend of April. Trinity Academy's two winning entries will be presented by Sarah Ouinniche, Sian Hopkins, Ben Smith, Alistair Lester and Emma Shorter when they attend the conference in Germany in September 2011.

For more information on the Comenius "Our Healthy Future" project and to see Trinity's project entries, follow this link - well worth taking 5 minutes to see what was involved.    top

  * PARENT COUNCIL PLAN 2010-11 (September 2010).
The Parent Council Plan for 2010-11 was agreed at the Parent Council meeting on 8 September 2010. This brief plan lays out a summary of our aims for the coming year so that parents can see what the Parent Council is actually working on and then we can see how our results measure up when the plan is reviewed next year.     top

YOUR 2010-11 PARENT COUNCIL ARE:
Kevin O’Donnell (Chair), Lindsay Mackenna (Vice Chair), Aileen Harris, (Treasurer), David Cole, Martin Finch, Wendy Hayhurst, David Hiddleston, Shirley Hopkins, Rajni Punn, Lorna Ramm, Seonaid Stewart, Melanie Sutherland, Janet Sylvester, Harald Tobermann, Mike Wallace, Sheena Booth. Carol Graham & Jill Black (Staff Representatives), Frances Mitchell (Clerk).

Our parent council, replaced the School Board and has met regularly since 2007. We have a very enthusiastic membership of 16 as well as support from parents on our Sub Groups responsible for Fund-raising, Communication and Campaigns - hence this web site. If you are interested in joining the PC, please email me for more information. Alternatively, you may prefer to help us with fund-raising or communication on an informal basis. Our next meeting will be held on  Tuesday 6 September 2011.  All parents are welcome to attend meetings. We try at every meeting to have a presentation on a current topic. We also have input from our local Councillors, the Rector and other members of staff.

Our aim is to bring parents more information about the great things happening at our school.  Part of that plan is to revamp the school web site and make more useful information available on this site - eg the information page. So why not  bookmark this site and visit us regularly.
